In June, 2016, The Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) held their annual awards. We were fortunate to receive two awards for the Best Action Photo of the Year.
We won 1st Place for our photo of a brown bear fishing for salmon at the Brooks River, in Katmai National Park, Alaska. The photo appeared in our regular travel column for the Western Producer weekly newspaper. To see the article “Bears Rule in Alaska’s Katmai National Park”, follow this link.
We also won the Outstanding Achievement Award in the same category of Best Action Photo of the Year. The photo showed two male bufflehead ducks running and flying across the water in a courting display to impress females. It was taken in a wetland in Saskatchewan’s Thickwood Hills. The photo appeared in our travel column in the Western Producer. The article is entitled “Take a spring prairie wildlife photo safari”, which you can find here.
