How to Enter
- Subscribe to photojourneys.ca (if you’re already subscribed, you’re halfway there). Sign up below in the footer, or on the sidebar.
- Go to the comments section below in this posting and tell us what place in Saskatchewan is at the top of your bucket list. There is no right or wrong answer – all places indicated are equally valid entries. That’s all there is to it. One entry per person.
- On May 5, 2021, we will draw from all valid entries and contact the winner by email for a mailing address to ship the book. In order to comply with Canadian contest regulations, the winner will be required to answer a skill-testing question. The winner’s first name only will be announced.
Contest Rules
- The contest is open to all photojourneys.ca subscribers who are Canadian residents at least 18 years of age and have a mailing address in Canada (because of different contest regulations in Quebec, this contest is not open to residents of Quebec).
- The prize is one copy of the book, The Great Saskatchewan Bucket List, with a value of $24.95. The book will be sent to the winner postage paid.
- No purchase is necessary to enter the contest.
- The draw will be based on valid entries received in the comments section of this posting between April 22 and May 4, 2021.

What a great idea! If I ever was lucky enough to be able to go back to Saskatchewan again, I’d want to visit Athabaskan Sand Dunes.
My Saskatchewan bucket list location is the Athabasca Sand Dunes.
I have so many places I would love to visit. Some are The Great Sandhills, Grey Wolfs cabin, all of Southern Sask from the Cypress Hills to Castle Butte. So many interesting places and lots of history.

We want to do a driving trip on the Redcoat Trail across southern Saskatchewan to see/visit all the sights and historic places we have not had the opportunity to experience, once the pandemic restrictions are lifted.

I would like to visit the Chaplin and Morse area to watch the waterfowl migration.

I’d love to see the athabasca sand dunes but the grease river and clearwater river would really be something too! I’d also like to take the drive up to wollaston lake. For south I’ve yet to see the great sandhills and the east block of grasslands!
Wow! So many wonders in Saskatchewan to see but Athabaskan Sand Dunes takes priority! Loved the southern Big Muddy area and West/East blocks of Cypress Hills which was #2 on our list but conquered that 2 years ago now. Would go back there again tho as we did not see it all!

So many places! But we really want to visit the Great Sand Hills.
I’ve been living overseas in Australia and Vietnam…but I always miss my home of South West Saskatchewan…when I come back I will take my family to visit the Mystery Rocks in the Cypress Hills.

I need to go and hike Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Love hiking.

We still use “Sask best Scenic Drives” for our road trips (some of the roads aren’t there anymore, makes for more of an adventure!) Would love to take a drive up to Northern Saskatchewan. We live in the south east.

I love love love Cypress Hills – but if I have to pick a Bucket List destination it’s Nistoiak Falls on the Churchill!
My husband and I would both love to see Grasslands National Park. As a side note, we drove the Red Coat Trail several years ago with our kids and checked out the Cypress Hills area. That was a beautiful trip. Saw tee pee rings and a rattlesnake!
My favourite place to visit is Ajawaan Lake/Grey Owl’s cabin.
Athabaskan Sand Dunes has been on my wish list for over 30 years. Hopefully one day can make it happen!!

We have been slowly working our way though the province to check out what we have in our backyards. With the Covid restrictions and the inability to travel out of province, it is a great opportunity to learn about the land and places near us. One place I’m interested in checking out is Grey Owl’s Cabin, but really any place. Lol.

I’ve wanted to paddle a canoe on the William River and explore the Athabasca Sand Dunes ever since I saw one of your stunning aerial photographs which was described as ‘butterscotch pudding marbled with whipped cream’.
I would love to see the Big Muddy Badlands!
My Top 3 are Migrations, Fall in Prince Albert National Park, and Prairie Dogs in Grasslands.
I would love to get up to Waskesiu sometime soon.
